Meal times at the Ryan's

This is why I feel like I am always cleaning and my house never feels totally clean. It wouldn't be so bad if she only ate once. She is pretty darn cute though :)

Surf Lessons

While camping at Coronado we took the surf board out and let the kids ride. Abby sat on the board and rode a small wave in. She liked it better on the sand. Our friends watched the kids on the beach so Todd could help me on the surf board. No luck for me either this time, but it was fun trying.
Hailey was very hesitant at first, but after riding her wave for the first time this year. She was hooked. She worked really hard on getting her balance down. Then she got it. Her Daddy is a great teacher.

You can tell by the look on her face that she was loving it! We might have a little surfer girl for the summer.

Memorial Day Weekend

Yeah, it's a three day weekend! We were super lucky and got a last minute reservations on the Silver Strand in Coronado to go beach camping, which is now our favorite thing to do.

Blake loved bouncing balls in the tunnel under the road that leads to the San Diego Bay.
Madison loved riding her Dora bike as fast as she could through the tunnel and along the bay.

Hailey loved finding sand dollars along the beach.

When we weren't hanging out on the beach we went over to Coronado and rode around. Abby really liked it. We thought she would scream when she had to wear a helmet, but she laughed and waved at all the people that were passing by.

Hailey and Madison sporting their new beach towel bags we bought on the island.

Abby was such a good napper in the motor home. She is a true beach baby!

One day our friends Scott and Christine came down with Noah and we played games on the beach. Then we went and got pizza in town. We really know how to rough camp it.

Madison and Noah are two peas in a pod.

This is the tunnel we rode through to get to the bay. We would take a morning and late evening walk every day over to hang out on the bay side a little.

At night we would roast marshmallows by the campfire, which is one of Blake's favorite things to do. Todd even played his guitar a little.

It was great being right on the beach so the kids could play as they wanted to. They had a blast playing with glow sticks after dark. We had a great time and look forward to lots of more camping trips.

Hailey's Dance Recital

This was Hailey's first year doing tap and jazz. She has done ballet for the last three years with Ms. Catherine. This is her first recital with Ms. Jeni's Dance. She was lucky to have a lot of friends in class with her again. She loves performing!

Di and Gramps made a special trip up to see Hailey's performance and spoiled her with flowers and a trip to Yogurt Island. Hailey's new favorite place to go.
Here is Hailey dancing to Alvin and the Chipmunks.

She was also in the Life is a Highway dance with her tap shoes. She did a great job!

Hailey's Burning Hot Field Trip

Today Hailey and I went to the local Fire Station for a field trip. She was so excited to ride the bus. She couldn't get over how cool it was that the bus didn't have seat belts.
They had the really cool trailer they use to teach kids about what to do about
smoke in the house and if they see a fire on the stove.

They all thought that it was really cool. Hailey got her whole class chanting "Again, again"
as her and her friend got up and did a little dance. She really got that kinder crowd going.
Luckly it isn't during classtime.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

We decided last minute to get take out Mexican with our friends. While the Dad's were gone getting dinner the kids, Christine and I made some paper flowers for our impromptu party. Homemade dinner versus homemade flowers. Flowers won.
The guys just loved the techno Mexican music we made them listen to. I think she gets from her older sister!

Fabulous!!!!

We are not sure where she gets it, but she is always game for a great shot!
Or as she would say a "fabulous photo shot".
She hates real dogs but she loves her stuffed ones.

I am forever picking up feathers from boas after play dates with Hailey and her friends.
You go girl!!!!!!!!

Piggy Tails!

Abby can now wear piggy tails. The older kids thought that was the funniest thing ever. She has also been walking for the last three weeks and loves being outside and walking in the grass.
