Sledding the Sunny Southern California Style

School was out for Presidents day so we went with some friends sledding. It was 80 degrees where we live and I was at Wal Mart buying sleds while people were shopping in tank tops and flip flops. I couldn't find any so I bought swimming pool tubes instead. We headed 40 minutes up the mountain to our favorite sledding hill and found plenty of snow.

The weather was perfect also.
The tubes worked great. We also used our beach boogie boards. That is the way we do here in California.

Hailey and Karas had a great time together and are quite the little dare devils.

Aiden brought a tin of popcorn and he, Madison, and Abby sat right down in the snow and ate it while watching the Moms and Dads go down together.

Blake decided to ditch the sleds and go down the super steep hill on his bottom. He got going pretty fast, it is a good thing he wasn't on super slick sled.

We stayed until dusk and then we headed back down the mountain got pizza and went in our friends' Jacuzzi. What a great way to spend a Monday!

Blake's Blue and Gold Banquet

For pack meeting this month it was the Blue and Gold Banquet. Blake seems to really like Cubs, especially since he has a lot of great friends in his den with him now. He earned his Bobcat last month and has been working on his wolf badge. The boys were supposed to decorate a cake for the dinner. It was the scouts 100 year birthday. So Blake and I came up with a s'more cake loaded with chocolate and marshmallow frosting. Blake got a certificate for the most gooey cake. He was happy to get that and not the most pretty vote.
Todd was in charge of running the "toilet paper 5000" and really enjoyed shooting the boys with it after they were presented their awards.

I just got called as one of Blake's Den leaders. They are all such cute boys and so excited about scouts. They also all look adorable in their scout uniforms. I made the paper scouts for the centerpieces for the tables. The boys all had a great time and love just being around each other.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The kids woke up on Sunday morning to surprises left behind by the love bandit. We also got to have Madison's friend Parker and Hailey's friend Ryann with us at church and in the afternoon while their Mom and Dad were out of town. They were very excited to share Valentine's with them.
Later that night we went to Grandma Di's house to celebrate Aunt Annelise's birthday.

Lot's of love to everyone! XOXOXO

Be Mine

Daddy/Daughter Dance

It was time again for the annual school Daddy/Daughter Dance. Hailey was really excited to go. Todd got her a corsage and heart necklace and they were on their way.

The met up with Hailey's friends Ryann and Trista for dinner at Richie's with the Dads and then they headed to the school for the dance. Todd said the girls had a blast and were dancing the whole time.
After a big group of them headed back over to Richie's for banana's splits. The girls had a great time being together with their Dads. We are so lucky to have such a great school and amazing Dad's that help support the kids and their school.

Todd and Hailey had such a great time they stayed at Richie's until 10:30pm. What a nights!

Boy, he is a cute Valentine!

Blake is now at the stage he wants nothing cuties so we took him to the store and bought Bagukon cards to sign and pass out. His class had a pizza party at school that day. Blake still loves the tradition of the holidays though and loves to get the younger girls excited about what is coming up.

Valentine's Rocks

For Hailey's school party she had to make a box for her valentines. We made a giant cupcake and we also made i loves (conversation hearts turned into ipods) for all her classmates. Her teacher said they were a big hit and the kids loved them. She said one girl starting screaming thinking it was real and that she just got a real pink ipod. Then she could her the candies shaking in it and though it was broken. We thought that was way to funny.
I got to go in with her and help serve up the most nutritional version of ice cream sundaes her teacher could come up with.

Hailey and her friends from class. They had a Rockin Valentine's day!

V is for Valentine

At Madison's joy school they are learning about the letter V and so they had a Valentine party and also learned about vehicles. Here is our cute group signing "I LOVE YOU"! Cosette's mom did a way super cute job making a city and in the backyard was a course for them to drive cars made out of boxes (hopefully I can get some pictures from her). The also had a drive in movie. She put down a black tarp and taped off a parking lot. The kids loved it.
Madison gave all her friends at joy school bags filled with froggy treats that said "I am Toadally into you".
They also made Valentine boxes to put all their treat in.
Madison also had a Valentine party at Ms. Michelle's preschool on Friday morning. We made put valentine fortune cookies in boxes for all of her friends there. She got lots of practice writing her name between the two schools.

She loves it at her preschool and was so excited to bring home valentine's from her new friends. She was also so excited to be helper of the day!

It's Raining It's Pouring

The rain never seems to stop us around here. It had been raining for a few days and one Saturday Todd and I decided to clean out the garage. We found the parkas we had bought for our raining Disneyland trip so Hailey and Abby decided to play in the rain a little. Abby loved feeling the little rain drops and floating her boat in the puddles. They started up the side walk a little and the wind starting blowing the rain in their faces so they couldn't get down so they had to be rescued and come inside. Hailey was cracking up and asking for help because she couldn't get Abby to walk toward the house because the wind and rain were hitting her in the face. They needed Daddy to rescue them.

Time to go in and get warm and watch a movie!

What will you look like in 2103?

It was the hundredth day of school and Hailey's class was doing a hundred day party. All the first graders were supposed to come to school dressed like they would be when they are 100 years old. For Hailey that would be the year 2103, which is crazy to think about. We sprayed her hair gray and gave her some classes. She had a blast with it, hobbling her way out the door to school that day.

Our Newest Gymnast

Madison liked dance in the fall but after watching Hailey and Blake do gymnastics. She decided that she wanted in on the fun. So we took her out of dance for the winter and put her in at the gym the same time Hailey goes just with a different coach. She loves it. She is so cute to watch in her little class. Every time she does something she gets a huge grin on her face and gives her teacher a high five. She is so proud. We also started her at a preschool in the area to get her ready for kindergarten next year. She loves going to Mrs. Michelle's three mornings a week. She still get to be with her joy school friends on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. She is growing up so fast and I am not ready for her to be a big girl yet.

Out Of This World

In Blake's class they have been learning about the Solar System for Social Studies and they were given the assignment to do a presentation on a planet. They had to make a poster with 10 facts, come up with a costume that someone would wear on the planet and then present it to the class. Blake was given the moon so he made a cool 3D moon for his board with Styrofoam and then came up with this astronaut suit from things we had around the house. Then I took a picture and put him on the moon for his poster.
Blake did a great a "out this world" job!
