Hurray for Summer!

I think Abby is the most excited about summer. She will have her siblings around all day to play with and doesn't have to follow me around with our crazy busy schedule the last few weeks. We decided on the last day we would surprise the kids and take them to Disneyland when we picked them up from school. Abby was so excited! She is so into the princesses right now so we decided to go check them out while the older kids and Daddy went on the bigger rides.

Somehow Disneyland always makes the kids get along so well together.

They had the Little Mermaid ride open so we had to check it out. We must have gotten lucky because we waited 45 minutes for the new ride and a week later my friend went and had to wait 2 1/2 hours. Crazy!

We pulled into the parking lot the same time an older family from our ward had. They were reminiscing about the days when they had their four kids young like us and all the stuff you had to take. They thought for sure we wouldn't last till dark. We were the last car standing in the parking lot at midnight! What a fun way to spend our first summer night together!

School is out!

School is officially out for the year and very early this year we are getting out the Friday before Memorial Day. Unfortunately we go back mid August. The kids all had a great year this year. Blake got the Friendship Award, Accelerated Reader Award, and Perfect Attendance Awards this year. His teacher wrote on his report card: "It has been a pleasure teaching Blake this year. He has a heart of Gold! He did a wonderful job meeting all of his academic expectations and good luck in 5th grade." Way to go Blake we are so proud of you! His teacher really wanted us to know what a kind friend he really is to everyone. Hopefully he can be as kinds all summer at home with his sister.

Hailey also did great this year. She also had perfect attendance and got an Accelerated Reader Award. Her teacher commented on what a great leader she was and how she exceeded all her academic responsibilities. Great job Hailey! Keep up the good work.

Kindergarten Promotion

Today was Madison's last day of Kindergarten. She successfully didn't speak to her teachers the entire year. She did love them though and did really well at school. She was just too shy to carry on a conversation. She was not shy about giving out big hugs though. She has just become a pro at communicating non verbally! Her teachers wrote that they enjoyed working with Madison. She is VERY quite and shy, but has many friends and can't wait to see her blossom in First Grade! He
She was too shy to talk out load but did have some great friends. They all were very protective of her. They are such sweet girls.

This is Maddie, Madison, and Madeline. They loved sharing similar names!
Madison and Katelyn are always ready for a big hug.

It was fun to be her room mom this year. I was glad to turn in my end of the year projects too. I had to make 22 memory albums and do double the teacher appreciation stuff because she had two teachers. It was all worth it though on the last day when the kids watched a video of the year I had made with the pictures I and the teachers took. They were so excited to have had a fun year. Mrs. Sved was in tears and said she watched some of the little girls cry during the video. I just love kindergarten and the friendships the kids make.

Ladybug Garden

Daddy was out of town for almost two weeks so to help make the weekend he was gone go faster we decided to keep busy and go to the San Diego Gardens to Ladybug Day. Since Abby is always having to be in the car taking to school, picking up from school, driving to taekwondo, water polo, dance and gymnastics all day everyday we decided to do something she would like to do. She loves lady bugs so we took her to the release party. They had lots of lady bug stories and crafts for the kids to do.

Abby making her ladybug playground.

After walking around all the ladybug stuff we decided to hike around the trails.

The kids love exploring the trails and different vegetation.

They thought it was the coolest place ever.

We weren't sure what to expect but it was a hit for sure.

They loved climbing around the tree house the most.

They thought it was so cool they found one.

Open House

Tonight was open house at the kids school. We had three classrooms to see this year.
First stop was Madison's classroom we went to see all of her garden projects and all the types of animals she was learning about. Her teachers even got to over hear her reading to Hailey.

Next we went to Blake's fourth grade classroom. They were each given a famous person from California to present to the parents. He was George Lucus and so he had on his Jedi cape. We also got to see his California mission his group made together in class.

He really loves his teacher this year.
Last was Hailey's second grade class. Hailey did a research project on Dinosaurs to share with everyone.

Hailey love's her teacher because she lets her do lots of research and lets her do 3rd grade work (especially writing everything in cursive).

Madison's Fire Station Field Trip

Today we went with Madison's class to the fire station. She was so excited to go on a field trip and ride the school bus. You can tell by the look on her face.

This is her whole class checking out the fire trucks.

Ready with her friend Maddie to board the bus back to school!
