Cooling Off At The Cove

This afternoon we went to the La Jolla Cove to see the sea lions.  We did spot  a few but the kids were really excited about the big waves!  The kids loved standing on the jetty and getting splashed with the water as it hit the wall.

It is always nice to see Blake and Hailey laughing and having a good time together.
We had just come from Del Mar Beach and the kids were in their suits until they changed.
Maybe we should have waited!

It was a splashing good time!

Having a Ball Picnicing at the Park

Tonight we went to the park to have a picnic dinner and play with the Giga Ball the kids had gotten for Christmas.  Grandma was curious how it worked so we took it to the park for her to see.
Getting it in a car was a bit of a challenge but we finally got it in Grandma's minivan.
We had a few tantrums on the way but by the time everyone ate we were ready to roll.

Everyone took turns rolling down and pushing each other.  Madison was so concerned about me rolling down it but I did just fine.  She is always so sweet worrying about others.
It was a perfect summer night.  Grandma got a little cold though and had to wrap up in the blanket!
The kids always have a "ball" when Grandma and Grandpa come and play with them.  It was a fun week!

Mad Scientists

One afternoon while Grandma and Grandpa Newbold where still here they took the girls to Professor Penneypickle's Children's Museum.  We had not been there in a few years and decided while Blake was at his Lego Camp with a friend we would go check it out.
 Silly little scientists!

They loved the time machine the best and then running through the glow in the dark maze.
Hailey and Madison experimenting with water balls.
Off they go!

Daddy Daughter Dance

This year the girls convinced Todd to do the Daddy Daughter Dance with them.  He did it three times.  He is such a good Daddy.  Unfortunately all three girls performed on different nights so Todd did also.  They LOVED every single minute of it.  They had dance class for four weeks on Saturdays.  Each girl got to go with him for an hour and spend some one on one time with their favorite guy.  Todd is such a good sport for giving up his Saturdays.  He really did have a great time with them though.  He loved how excited they got.  They would practice all the time.  One time while we were at Olive Garden waiting to be seated they put on a little show.  Todd will do anything for his kids!
The day of dress rehearsal the girls were all dressed at the same time so we had to get a shot with Daddy and his dancing divas!
Madison loved her feathers on her costume.  She said as soon as she got of the stage from dress rehearsal she could not wait to dance again with Daddy everyday.  Daddy loved the way her pony tail would swish back and forth as she danced with him.  She is pretty darn cute!

She had to sneak in a kiss!
Abby was in the second show.  She loved all the lifts Daddy did with her and doing her sassy walk around Daddy.  Todd said she was full of giggles every time they went to dance together.

The last performance for Todd was at Hailey's recital show.  The first year Hailey was not interested in doing Father Daughter until she saw them perform last summer.  This year she looked forward to it all year.  She really loves her Daddy!

I think these girls might get their dancing genes from their Dad!  There was a whole lot of dancing going on this month but we loved every minute of it.  Except for Blake who was done after one and a half recitals.  He was a good sport though for most of it.

Hailey's 2012 Jazz Recital

Hailey took a Jazz class this year with Mrs. Sarah.  She really enjoys Jazz.  She loved the challenge her teacher gave her to get her splits down and she did as soon as she could.  Jazz is her favorite so far.  She loved her dance this year and is begging to take more classes.  She would go all afternoon if she could.

Grandma Di found the perfect colorful flowers for her and her colorful personality!

Madison's 2012 Hip Hop Recital

Madison had her Hip Hop recital today.  She has come a long way since last fall.  I had to take her every week for a month with her kicking and screaming for her combo class.  By January she was suppossed to move up to a more advanced class so I told her she could choose any class and she chose Hip Hop and loved it.

She really likes Mr. Patrick was was super excited not to wear tights to class every week.

She also loved performing and did great!!!  She can be so shy sometimes but is another person dancing on stage.  She already  told me she is "so going to be on dance team".  She's definitly got rhythmn for a beginning Hip Hop dancer.
This is the video of her dress rehearsal.

Abby's 2012 Recital

Abby has been taking a ballet/tap/jazz combo class this year.  For her recital she did a tap number to Stronger.  She was so excited to perform on stage.  She loved being on the big stage and has asked everyday since when she gets to go back to her dance company on the the stage.
Mrs. Sarah is so fun with the girls.  Abby really loved her as a teacher!
 She loved her ending pose.
The finale was AMAZING!  She loved waving her little flag.
Grandma and Grandpa even came all the way to Utah to see her first performance!

Surfing 101

This summer Todd challenged the kids to learn to surf more.  They did really good this year!  Blake is pretty determined to paddle into his own waves.  He was able to catch a  couple unassisted!

 Like father like son:)
Blake made his Dad/Instructor super proud!

Hailey was even more determined she still needs help being pushed into the waves but gets up really easy.  Now all she wants to do is surf when we go to the beach and is already begging for her own board.

Madison also gave it a try.  She really likes boogie boarding this year so she was not quite as into surfing.  She did get up once.  She loved riding in on her knees more than anything with a huge grin on her face.
Abby got way out there with Todd this year but just wanted to surf with Daddy.  She was a little too nervous to stand up even with Daddy holding the board so the rode the waves in on their bellies.
