Happy Halloween

We had to get Hailey's picture by the haunted car on our way to a friend's haunted house.  There we trick or treated with the girls and Hailey's friend Karis after going in the Haunted House.
Blake was in the same neighborhood but with some friends.

Thank goodness Madison was feeling better and back to school this morning so she could trick or treat!  She was way more interested though in counting Romney Ryan signs.  She has been on the look out for signs all month.  She thinks is name is Romney Ryan not Mitt Romney.  Funny girl!

One house we went to ran out of candy so she was giving out things from her pantry.  Madison go Top Roman.  That could be an expensive Halloween for her.  Not sure why she just didn't close the door.  Madison had to take her noodles to school just to prove to her friends she really got them. I was a nice low key Halloween since the girls were pretty tired.  Happy Halloween!

Preschool Halloween Party

Abby had preschool this morning so they had a Halloween party.
Abby and her best friend Jemma!
I LOVE her teacher!  She sends us pictures each week at preschool so we can see what s going on.  Two of her friends at school have a Daddy deployed with the military so it is a great way to keep them connected.  Abby's pictures are so cute and funny.  She is always posing of course.

This is why Abby begs to go to school everyday!

Our Harvest

This year we had lots of thinks to well in our garden and some not so well.

Our Roma tomatoes and basil did great.  We had lots of it and it was super nice to go out and pick some to add to dinners all summer long.

We tried peppers for the first time and they did pretty good.
Grapes we had a TON of.  They were all over our deck.  It was very pretty.  They were yummy too.  The kids loved eating our strawberries, grapes and plums right from the yard.
Our watermelon and cantaloupe did not do so well but we did end up with two pumpkins.

The pumpkins we bought though seemed to grow the craziest creatures we ever saw!

Happy Harvest!

Carving Pumpkins

For Family Home Evening tonight we carved pumpkins to get ready for Halloween.

Madison has had the stomach flu but was feeling well enough to get up and scoop out her pumpkin.  We are glad she is getting better.  Yesterday she was throwing up.  She still has not eaten very much and said scooping out her pumpkin was not helping her want to eat.  It was nice to see her smiling again!

We had a good laugh at Blake doing the pumpkin man dance!

The kids each designed their own pumpkins.  They were very proud.  Madison and Abby needed a little help from Daddy with the carving but the rest they did all by themselves.  They were very excited to eat pumpkin seeds and we had a lot with four pumpkins so we had lots to snack on that week.

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon after all the soccer games we went to the pumpkin patch then to see the movie Hotel Transylvania. Abby was the only one really excited to go because the older kids knew I only wanted to go to take some pictures.  They were right but once we were there everyone cooperated!  I was able to get some cute pictures.  I could have stayed forever getting pictures with some of the cool old trucks and things they had.

We got there right in time to see the pig races before heading off to see the movie.

Trunk or Treat

Right after the Monster Mash school party we headed over to the church building for Trunk or Treat.  Thank goodness I took my chili over early because we got there just as dinner was ending.  The kids did not want to leave their friends at school but it didn't take them long to find their friends at the Trunk or Treat party too.  These time Abby found her sweet little friends Ava and Scarlet.  They are the three amigos in their Sunbeam class!

 Hailey and Rory
Madison and Jaida.  They are the only two girls in their class of like 10 boys.  Madison is like a foot taller than she is but they still can be very silly together!
The girls decided they wanted to pass out the candy after a little while.  I really think it was to eat what they had already gotten though!  Bags of candy all ready and Halloween isn't for five days:)  I think we will have to buy it off of them and pass it out to our trick or treaters!  Thank goodness we did not stay for trick or treating around the classrooms at school also!
