Weekend Surf Lessons

It has been so hot all week. The first two weeks of school are always the hottest weeks of the year.  They are always the best time to go to the beach too.  So Saturday we couldn't wait to get to the beach to cool off and have some surf lessons with Dad.  I even gave it a try but failed.  Madison kept telling me, "you never give up, just give it your best."  She is so cute!!!

Blake is getting pretty good at watching the waves and catching them himself.  He could barely hold the surfboard before and now he carries it around like it is no problem.

Hailey loves to surf but spent most of the time relaxing on the beach.  She loves surfing at twilight.

Madison fell in love with surfing today!  She usually will just come in on her stomach but today she practiced and practiced until she got it and then we couldn't stop her.  She said she had  to get surfing down so she could wear her surfer girl hat she had.

If Abby isn't accessorizing herself with seaweed she loves to catch some waves too.

They learned from the best!

Our Newest JES kid!

Abby is now an official JES student.  She is so excited to be a kindergartner.  Hailey and Madison love the idea of having her at school and love to look out for her while passing at lunch or recess.

She was pretty excited especially when she got to see her nice teachers and fun classroom.
She has Mrs. Breglio one day and Mrs. Sved the other four.
We are lucky to have them again and they were so excited to have her.
Looks like I will be busy, they already asked me to come in and help the next day since they know me and have a list of pictures for me to take for the memory books (which I will be making).
Abby loves it in kindergarten.  She now has four girls in her class and they all hit is off immediately.  She can't wait to get out of bed and get to school.
This year the kindergarteners even eat lunch at school.
She loves being big like her sisters.

3rd Grader

Madison is a 3rd Grader now.  She is definitely feeling more like a big kid at the school.  She loves being a reading buddy now for the kindergarten class.  She was also so excited to be voted as the class vice president for the start of they year.

She is so happy to back in a class again with her favorite school buddy Maddie.  We call them M&M when they are together.
Madison's teacher is Mrs. Helberg.  We have never had her before but Madison loves her. Mrs. Helberg loves football and teaches a lot around the football, which Madison loves.  She told her Dad she was sorry to report she was at the Patriots table but was still a Charger true and true.

5th Grade and Final Year

Hailey is now a fifth grader.  Her last year at JES.

We are so excited she got Mrs. Fine.  Hailey is going to love they way she teaches.
Hailey is a great student and such a social butterfly.  She rushed out to find all of her friends!
Hailey and her friend Carmella had the same shirt one.  They said that it is no wonder they like each other because they have they same taste.

Middle School Pro

Blake is now a 7th Grader.  He survived his first year of middle school.  Once school started he was excited to be back with his friends.  So grateful he has such a good group of friends!  He seems to be pretty excited about some of his teachers this year.  I told him if he made it through last years math teacher he could handle any kind of teacher.  He said they are all much nicer this year except he can't get over his language art teachers eyebrows.

School Starts Today

Back to school time.  It came too quick this year!

Back to school shopping and projects with Grandma and Aunt Holly

School was only a couple of days away when Grandma and Grandpa were here visiting.  So we were very busy getting ready by doing a little school shopping and bought fabric for some new projects for Mom's new machine.  We needed Grandma and Aunt Holly's expertise before they left.
We decided to give Grandpa a little break from all the shopping and took him to a movie and lunch.  Then we headed back home to do some sewing projects.  I might have gotten carried away at the fabric store.  We did get a lot done though.  A bunch of throw pillows, a new charger blanket for Blake, Daddy got his boat cover repaired and the girls American Doll bedroom got a makeover.

The girls loved all the sewing projects.  The only things we did not get finished was the pile of maxi skirts I thought we could whip up in an hour.  Looks like we will be keeping Grandma and Aunt Holly busy next time they come:)  It was fun to have them visit.  I think when we ask them what they want to do and they say they don't care they better be prepared to sew!!!  Thanks for all the fun projects.

Blake's Priesthood Ordination

Today Blake was given the priesthood by his Dad.  He was well prepared to receive the priesthood thanks to some amazing leaders, teachers and family.  He is getting so much older so fast.  I can't believe he is a Deacon now and part of the youth program.  I am so proud of him and the choices he is making.  I love this boy!
He has a great Dad who is such a great example to him.  The girls and I are very lucky to have such good priesthood holders in our home.
Grandpa Newbold drove along way to be there just for Blake.  The gospel is so important to him and he is a perfect example of someone who loves the Lord.

Blake was very lucky because he had a lot of support that day.  Lots of his family made the sacrifice to get up early and be there for him even though it was an hour drive or more for everyone.  He will always remember that.

It was fun to have his cousin Sara there too from Utah. They are not little kids anymore.
Blake was so happy to have everyone over after for lunch and spend time with everyone.
So proud of Blake and can't wait to see him passing the sacrament next week.

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Newbold came to visit for a few days with Aunt Holly and Sara.  They meet us Saturday after noon at the Lake on their way into town.  We took them for a ride on the boat to cool off after a long drive.

Sara loves to boat too.  So she was very excited to water ski.
Aunt Holly could not resist it either so she caught out on he knee board.

It was fun to take them around the lake and show them how we like to spend our time together.

Everyone was very excited to have them visit and stay a few days.
