By the sea at the tide pools

The last day we went to the beach even though it was a little rainy.  The kids don't care at all though.  The Broadheads had headed back home unfortunately  with the stomach bug.  So did Uncle Kerry and Aunt Robyn after they dropped Charlene off at the airport to go back to school.  The rest of drove to the tide pools to find crabs and anything else we could find.

Thank goodness for Dads and big brothers who wore shorts to carry the girls from rock to rock.

They better hurry the tide is rising!!!

Rain or shine the beach is always nice.  This was one of the coldest weeks all year.  What are the chances.  Of course it wasn't cold in comparison to Utah.
Blake giving Grandma and Grandpa a lesson how to find mini starfish or baby octopus.
Abby and Grandma watching the sea lions.  It was nice to have everyone come and never felt too crowded.  Now it is back to school and regular routines.

The Feast

Time for dinner.  I loved that I could finally use my turkey kid plates for a Thanksgiving dinner and make a fun kids table.
Grandma Newbold really wanted to sit with the kids at the kid table.  She was either tired of the adults or really wanted to be like a kid for a meal.  The grandkids all loved it no matter what the reason was!!!!

Abby was so happy to have Charlene and Robyn there to braid her hair however she wanted.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My First Turkey

This was my first time making a turkey for Thanksgiving.  It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.  Unfortunately I thought it was a bit dry even with cooking it in a bag.  I loved having left over turkey though.  Big benefit of cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
My Madison was my helper when it came to making a the vegetable platter.  We decided to make a turkey like we saw on pinterest.  She was very proud of  her vege turkey!

My Little Indian

Abby was taking the day very seriously.  We decided to bring out the tepee and costume grandpa Newbold had given the kids a few years ago.  Charlene helped her set a fake fire.  Abby was beyond happy!!!  She was even allow free pictures with her little Indian self by her tepee.

Earlier we had made hats and little turkeys for the dinner table.  Grandpa, Lillie and Madison reluctantly got in on the fun also.

Thanksgiving Day 2013

Thanksgiving day we all hung out at home.  Uncle Brett flew in that morning to have thanksgiving with us and spend the weekend.  We spent all day getting food ready, watching football and playing games.

Grandpa was a bit sluggish after two days at Disneyland especially just coming off Chemo treatments.  Luckily they worked and now he just has to worry about getting his energy back.  These girls were more then happy to cuddle on the couch with him,

There was some serious games going down into the evening.

Catching the train home

Waiting for the train ride home.  Grandma got everyone ice cream.  I think Blake heard candy instead of ice cream with a few little toppings.

Teasing pregnant Aunt Angie.  Aren't they funny.  Everyone went home happy which is good because there were a few melt downs on the way.

Petting Zoo

There was a petting zoo right next to the train station so while we waited for the next train we decided to take the kids there.  There was an area full of guinea pigs for them to feed and play with.

They loved playing with the animals  the most.  It was good for them to get used to animals since they are all terrified of most animals.

There was also a corn box for them to play and dig in.  They all wanted to bury the boys and the let them with no hassle.
This poor turkey I am sure hates this time of year.
