Revenge of the Nerds

Hailey has been in hip hop classes for the last year. She has had lots of fun with it! For the recital this year they did a dance to Revenge of the Nerds. The costumes were really cute, especially the nerd glasses. She sure does make an adorable nerd! She loves her teacher Ms. Dilyn! Karis also took the same class so they could be together. They did great! The whole recital was amazing, but this number brought down the house. Grandma Di came up to spend the day and see the show. She spoiled Hailey with a bouquet of flowers. She loved every minute of it. She said the finally was so cool with all the cheering.

Here is one of the dress rehearsal performances.

Cars 2

This summer at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood they were playing Cars 2 so we got a group together again to go. Abby looking so Hollywood in her 3D glasses. Everyone picked the balcony to sit.

After the show was the carnival out back. They had some character there to meet.

There was a tire park to play on. The kids thought this giant tire swing was pretty sweet!

They had a race track for the kids to ride. They younger kids got trikes to ride.

Here comes Blake to the finish!

Abby in the "shop" giving the car a new paint job.

There was a spot to make your own Lego car to race. Such a cute idea for scouts. Here they all are posing before the race. The Lightning McQueen in the background was made with Legos.

The race is on! I think Abby's won!

The Tokyo Tower's Slide

Madison Jumping to the top of Big Ben.

Our group. We all caravaned down together. After we headed to Griffiths Park for little picnic to wait out traffic. The park was fun and the kids loved running around instead of driving home in rush hour. We managed to the streets of LA with our big crowd! What a fun day!

The Little Mermaid Adventure

Abby was so excited to go see The Little Mermaid show. It was set amongst the red rocks. It was very pretty. Hailey was not very excited to see "a princessy show" but I as soon as we got there she said it was 200 times cooler than she thought it would be and couldn't stop talking about all of it.

It was cool to watch the sun go down. It was a very pretty sunset. However a summer rain storm was starting. As soon as the scene when Prince Eric's boat hits a rain storm the lightning and rain started. At first we weren's sure if the rain mist was real or not because they used lots of cool water effects in the show. But sure enough it was all of a sudden downpouring before the first Act was over.

Everyone sat out the rain for a few minutes hoping it would stop because the show was amazing. However it wasn't letting up and they had to cancel the show. Everyone was a great sport about considering we were drenched. Luckly it was really warm out. We ended up in the orchestra pit for a little while. The kids thought it was quite the adventure, especially at the part in the show that it happened.

The theater let us get tickets for another show. So we all decided to go back in a few weeks and meet again.

Girls Trip!

We were home a day, did some laundry and then the girls and I headed to St. George for a girls trip. We met Grandma Newbold there with all of our Aunts and girl Cousins. The Little Mermaid was at the Tucahn Theater so we went to see it for Grandma's birthday. We got to meet our newest cousin Lillie for the first time. Aunt Angie brought her down for one night since she was only a month old. She sure is tiny and cute. Abby was amazed my her and loved holding her.

We spent time together shopping, eating out and swimming in the pool. While we were out the girls found these turtles some kids had and wanted to hold one.
Hanging out my the pools with the girls!

The kids all loved having adjoining rooms. It was a none stop party. In the room the kids made seashell necklaces, water bottle oceans, and yarn octopus. Abby was exhausted from two trips in a row, but she did not want to miss out on all the fun.

Hailey was so excited to have bought some new sunglasses after fighting with me for mine all week at the river. I woke up to go to the bathroom and saw that she was sleeping with her new glasses on. Funny girl.

The tan lines will fade, but the memories will stay the same!

The worst part about the river is saying goodbye. We always leave as the sun goes down and it is the best part of the day. Everything is so pretty and the water is glassy and perfect.

Some last waterplay with Dad before we pack up.

Friends Forever!

Goodbye until next time!

Kaboom!!!

We had quite the amazing fireworks this year. Don had bought boxes of fireworks to shoot off. We started off watching a few different ones. The kids thought it was great. Madison and Abby lasted a little while but were so tired they went in and fell asleep. Blake and Hailey watched all the fire works until midnight. Yes they really lasted that long. Blake said it was the best day of his life.

Blake and some of the kids got to set a few off and then they played with sparklers.

We though we were all done. But, no, little did we know. We would all be sitting around the campground talking and all of a sudden Don would be gone and a huge firework would explode above our heads. Just like the ones communities put on. It was crazy! Then a few minutes later he would wonder back into the conversation. Then we would pull out another box and wonder away again. Blake could not get enough of it. He was laughing the whole night. Hailey put hours of video of it on her i pod.

Toward the end we were getting a little nervous because they seemed to get a little closer and more going off at one time. We send Todd over to check it out. Next thing we knew they were putting them in the trash as a cannon. Guess who's idea that was. The one we sent to protect us and the children.

By the end of the night the flag was still standing, everyone was safe and we got an amazing firework show!

Cruising

The kids loved cruising around on the this scooter. Especially the biggest kid of all, Daddy!

Happy Fourth of July

It was nice to spend the 4th of July holiday in such a pretty part of the country. We are lucky to live in such a country with so many beautiful places that we are free to visit. We got to spend the day in two states we camped on the California side but we would just cross the river to be in Arizona. Abby would call the Arizona side the "Lizard Mountain".
