Trick or Treat

Noah, Abby and Madison say it is "This way to trick or treat!"  They are all off.  Blake and Hailey went of with two of theirr friends and we stayed back with the little ones.
Then we all met up a couple of blocks away and got in the car and went to our friends haunted house that their thirteen year old son had made with their Grandpa.  People were hearing about the haunted house at Wal Mart and coming to check it out.  Impressive.  All the kids braved it.  Except for the Barbours.  Wimps!!!  Ha Ha!  The kids were very excited to get spoiled with extra large sized candy bars.
Blake met up with some more of his friends and we went around some houses in their neighborhood.  It is so fun to go around and see and chat with lots of people in the neighborhood.
We had to all get out of the car and take a pictures by the house with the creepy car.
The Barbours hopped in our car with us to hit the other neighborhoods.  It sure is nice to have a car big enough to fit us and friends!  That is my treat :)  Blake and Noah where both Ninjas.  No more sweet little boy costumes for these guys.  They were still pretty cute though.

Yikes!  What are we going to do with all this candy?
It was a fun night of trick or treating and a great ending to a very busy six days of Halloween.  I am very happy not to have to put on costumes anymore and make sure everything is there clean and ready to go.

Carving Pumpkins

We were able to squeeze in carving pumpkins this year.  We had about an hour before our friends were coming over for soup and trick or treating so we got busy.
Blake really wanted to make is pumpkin vomit.
Everyone drew what they wanted on their little pumpkins and Todd helped them carve it out.  Abby wanted a Rapunzel pumpkin so she had him cut long strips for hair.

Hailey was all giggles getting out the inside of the pumpkin.  She thought it was so gross.
We took a picture of their masterpieces.  They could not stop laughing because while I leaned back to get a picture I fell into out big Jack O Lantern and cracked through it.

Bewitchingly Cute!

Halloween morning was our day for playgroup so we decided to have a little witches party.  Abby was so excited to have a little Halloween party.  We made some witches brew (homemade root beer).  Decorated witch hats and black frames.  Played a game of Halloween Bingo.  The also were very busy playing dress up.  They were so cute about letting each other try on their costumes.

School Fall Festival

Saturday was the school's Fall Festival. Everyone who helped did an amazing job!  Now we have three at the school until next year when Blake is off to Junior High.
They had a pumpkin carving contest.  Some people did some really cool pumpkins.  They were very clever.  Abby wanted to take a bite out of this one.
 Mrs. Spooky the cat.
This pumpkin had some school spirit.  Madison and Noah are so happy to be at school together and in the same class.
Blake the Ninja arrested for having too much fun!
Madison so proud of her class booth.
Abby loved playing all of the games!
Hailey was out and about fluttering around finding friends and winning bottles of soda and baked goods from the Cake Walk.  Every time she would come around she would have a handful of something she won we would have to take to the car.  We are taking that kid to Vegas.  Holy Cow.

The kids love their school and look forward to the Fall Festival each year.  After we went out for pizza and met up with our Cousins Jake and Josh who were playing at a baseball tournament in town.  Sometime in between Todd sold his car and helped someone move.  This month alone he helped seven different people move.  He is amazing and does not ever complain about it.  Thank goodness Sunday is the day of rest.  Todd and I are ready for it.

Let the Weekend Festivities Begin

There are lots of things going on this week.  Everyone has been super busy but we have had lots of fun too.  I am over three booths for two different carnivals this weekend.  Todd spent quite a few hours working on a hunted house with the youth at church.  Which the kids loved.  Our first carnival is at church.  The night before I was a late night decorating cupcakes for both carnivals.  I sent each of the kids with a dozen for the school cupcake walk and and then a couple of dozen for the ward carnival.  The next day when Blake got home he said he set his down when they were lining up and someone stepped on  them.  Great!  Oh well at least they got a dozen from Hailey and a dozen from Madison.
Friday night was the ward carnival.  A new member of our ward did this amazing balloon backdrop.  Super cute!

Abby's Preschool Party

Abby's adorable little preschool class.  Mrs. Lisa is the best!
Abby and her best little friend Jema.
This class is too cute to spook!

Wild Rumpus Party

In first grade they read Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.  For a project they have to create a wild thing at home.  Madison wrapped a styrofoam ball with frayed yarn and we found some trinkets in out Halloween box to use as they eyes and mouth.  It was pretty wild!
Also at school they have a Wild Rumpus Party.  They get to wear their PJs and do some fun rotations.
These two wild things have such a great time together.  Madison really likes Travis.  They are always laughing together.  Luckily Mrs. Williams says they enjoying being together but both work well side by side.
 Making monster hands!
Madison had a wildly fun time.  I sure do love this little wild thing!

Halloween Dance Parties

All three girls had dance parties this week.   Unfortunately someone decided  to take out my memory stick out of my camera so he could take a picture of a car we are selling and didn't put it back.  I had my camera ready the night before and thirty minutes before we left for Madison and Abby's performances someone forget to tell me or put it in.  I was not so happy to not have video of Abby's cute Witch Doctor dance and Madison's tap number to The Purple People Eaters.  They were so cute!  I did get to get Hailey's dance the next day.  Hailey loves her teacher!  She is also so excited to have mastered her splits, which was her goal before the end of the year.

The Race is On!

The kids have always loved running around the corn mazes at the pumpkin patch we normally go.  This year we decided to go to the bigger corn maze in town with our friends and neighbors.  It turns out that it is the biggest corn maze in Southern California.  They said it would take about 45 minutes to get through the maze.  Thank goodness we grabbed some water bottles before starting out adventure. This is an aerial view of the maze.

These cuties should have stayed on trail because there are "corn police".  Hailey and Todd had a great time jumping out at all of us.  Blake and Noah  were off leading the trail.  Madison was determined to fill in the clues along the way.  They all couldn't believe how long the corn was.

Off to the finish line.  We made it!

Everyone loved the sandbox full of corn kernels at the end.

Happy Fall!

Go Fight Win!

Hailey participated in a cheer camp with the high school cheer squad.  She loved every minute of it.
She took it with her friend Karis!  They are two peas in a pod who love to dance!
They were able to cheer at the varsity football game on Friday night.  Hailey was so excited to do that.  They also got to be a part of the tunnel when the players came out.  Her voice was so tired from screaming.
She thought the stunts were so fun and was super happy to be a lifter.  They also did a cheer and dance number at half time.  She is quite the little performer!

After the game our families took the girls out for ice cream at Richie's.  The were certainly on an adrenalin high that night.  Hailey cannot wait to do it next year.
