Tonight was our summer BBQ and Firework Party. We had some families come over and eat then watched the Pechanga fireworks from our deck. I love this time of year and summer nights! We are so lucky to live in such a great community.
Nights on Vacation
The kids were so excited to see Brave.
Now my girls only want to eat at Subway because they want Brave bags.
I love not having to cook at all on a vacation. We sure did eat out a lot!!! We even found a Richie's Diner like we have near us. I also loved no having to run kids around to their different activities.Of course we did have to squeeze in a night swim. There is nothing like a game of keep away in the pool at night. Abby is getting to be such a good swimmer I can even join in on a game finally.
All the kids loved swapping rooms each night and having cousin sleepovers. The pullout bed I must say was the most comfortable bed I have ever seen.
Cooling off Poolside
We had to have snow cones before lunch to cool off while they Daddy's made a lunch run!!! Refreshing!!!
Splashing in the Pools
Mermaid Cousins!!!
Aunt Lisa trying to pose with sweet energetic Ruby and Katie.
The Three Amigos!
Once we went over in the big pool Abby couldn't get enough of jumping into the deeper water.
She was flying!!!
Uncle Jamey jumping in with the little girls.
Daddy getting Blake and Jackson before they sneak attacked him.
Splashtopia
One reason we love this resort is because they have a fun little waterpark inside that has a couple of waterslides, a splash pad, beach pool and lazy river.
Madison and Ruby were all about the waterslide.
They spend alot of time going down them and having a great time.
Jackson and Blake on the splash pad cooling off.
NICE!!!
Palm Springs in June
In June we went to Palm Springs with Uncle Jamey, Aunt Lisa and the kids. They were so excited to be traveling together.
We all piled into two cars and we were off to Palm Springs for a few days. We had stayed at the resort a couple of years ago and loved it.
The line up of kids carrying in their luggage was too funny. Once we got into our room they couldn't wait to get in thier suits and hit the pool to cool off!
Trips to the Blueberry Farm
In the month of June we took a few trips to the Blueberry Farm to pick some fresh blueberries. We all love blueberries. I love them frozen the best! The kids love to pick them so we went to get some one morning. They now have a big chicken coop there so one afternoon we went to meet Farmer Ray and see inside the chicken coop to get fresh eggs. Abby thought it was so cool the chickens had cubbies just like her at school.
We found out they have movies on the barn on Friday nights so we grabbed a bucket of chicken and picnic on the farm at dusk until the movie started. It was a beautiful night but a little chilly so we all wrapped up under blankets to watch. It was really pretty with the night sky full of stars and the barn lit up.
The movie was free and you could buy some fresh blueberries with cream and honey. YUMMY! We planted some blueberry bushes so hopefully next summer we will have some of our own to pick.
Summer Camps
Since Abby's preschool got a couple of weeks later than the older kids I decided to sign them up for some local camps.
Madison and Hailey went to cooking class in the mornings this week. They LOVED it!!! The teacher was a French lady who taught them how to make lots of things from scratch. They made their own pasta noodles with the pasta machine, crepes, kabobs, sushi, peach pie and lots more. The are all excited about going to the Farmer's Market and buy fresh food and bake up a storm. Mrs. Celine Cossou-Borde said they were the sweetest sisters together and was really impressed by the both of them.
Blake went to Basketball Camp this week with a couple of friends. He seemed to actually really like it. He was pretty excited to see some friends from school there. He and his friends would get together before they left in the afternoon and make water balloons and shoot some hoops. I am so glad his video game addition is gone!!! They started riding bikes a lot to each other's homes. They would ride to Mason's house and then walk across the street to the high school for camp. I can't believe he is a middle schooler now:(
Abby's Preschool Program
These are her little preschool friends that she went to class with on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Mrs. Lisa is amazing and has three different classes that all came together to sing some cowboy songs. They were very cute!Abby was not shy about belting out Old MacDonald Had A Farm as loud as she could.
Thank you Mrs. Lisa for an amazing year!
Girl's Night
This afternoon I let the girls each call and invite a friend to come over and play. We decided to take them to the community concert night. They had a new group of performers called the 5LPs or Five Little Princesses. They are supposed to have a new Nickelodeon show this fall. I though the girls might have fun and they were also filming an upcoming commercial for the show. One of the stars was from the girls dance company so we saw a lot of the girls friends from dance there also. I let the girls make posters before we went. There was glitter EVERYWHERE!
They were so proud of their signs though.
They had a great time just hanging out and dancing to the music. There were a few dance performances before that were really fun to watch. After the girls got to get the 5LP's autographs and take a picture with them.
Abby is of course was the biggest fan because they were princesses. Hailey and the older girls love to play and watch Abby being such a princess. Abby of course loves the attention from them!
