Today was the last day of school! Summer is officially begun. I decided to surprise the kids with a sign and some fun outdoor stuff when they came home since they all worked really hard this year.
I filled a bucket of water balloons and let them start a water fight after I picked up the carpool.
They couldn't believe I was letting them get soaked straight from school without changing into swimsuits.
When the water balloons were gone and water guns were empty Christine and I showed helped Madison get the hose and show them how it is really done.
It was a fun way to start of the summer the kids all played with friends and neighbors all afternoon and then we headed to some friends for a BBQ and a swim in their pool.
I decided I didn't want everyone whining all day, watching tv and eating everything out of the pantry so I was determined to keep them busy and having fun. I also didn't want the whole neighborhood at my house all day long running in and out. So I got them all their summer workbooks to do once a day and then we made a summer fun poster we hung in the playroom of something fun to do everyday. That way when they whine and say they are bored they have an idea to do that is fun. I promised them we would do it as long as they ask me after their rooms are clean and workbook page is done. We will see how it goes!
