End to a Fun Trip
This cute little picture sums up the end of a fun filled girls trip. Lots of good times, memories, food, and laughs!
Las Vegas Stop
We decided to stop at the Las Vegas temple so the girls could start a collection of temple pictures. It was SUPER hot!!!
After seeing the temple we headed to Henderson to visit the Wood Connection and Iron Works. I think we spent an hour in a half in Iron Works. The girls choreographed dances in the store while Lisa and I shopped. It was 7pm before we got on the road and headed home.
Gunlock Lake
Our last morning we decided to take another hike to see the Gunlock Waterfalls. Unfortunately they were all dried out and have been for a couple of years. We decided to hike across the dam and play in the lake a little though to cool off.
The kids liked the red sand and had not seen it before. They loved the feel of it.
Such good little hikers!!! I love hiking with them. Now time to change and head on the road south to California.
Mulan
The next day we went to see Mulan after another day of shopping, eating and swimming. It was inside in the theater. It too was really good. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good and the kids loved it.
These guys were hilarious!!!
Mary Poppins
At night we went to see Mary Poppins. It did not disappoint. Mary Poppins flew through they sky numerous times, there was a live horse and buggy and stage and a firework show. It was amazing. Tuacahn is such a great place to see a musical! Worth the drive!
It was midnight again before we got back to the hotel but everyone survived but Katie till the end.
St. George Temple
We spend a long time in the visitor center. Kyla wanted to do some family history and the little girls loved the rocks one of the missionaries gave them that they used to build the temple. Madison and Abby were also so excited to show Ruby and Katie the Christ statue. The girls wanted to watch a movie and then another and another. It was nice and cool there so we let them watch what they wanted. A good message never hurts! After each movie the missionary would discuss it with them and it was so cute listening to their answers.
Morning Hike up the Bluffs
The next morning we were up and ready for cruising the town. We ate at Kneaders for breakfast and then decided to take a hike up the Bluffs. The kids loved hiking and finding little caves in the rocks. It was hot but nice to get out and walk.
This was our cooling off spot. It was a good 15 degrees cooler.
It was a great view of St. George. It was a little TERRIFYING seeing the drop. I was starting to freak out a little so time to get down away from the edge!!! Everyone had a good laugh at my almost panic attack.
Much safer under the rocks!!!
Next we headed to the temple, then some fun shopping, and a quick dip in the pool before Mary Poppins that night.
Girl's Road Trip
Last minute Aunt Lisa and I decided to take a girl's road trip to Utah to see Mary Poppins and Mulan. Kyla wanted to come along too. So we all piled in my car and headed to Utah for a couple of days. It was a blast and all the girls did really good in the car. Kyla and Hailey have hours of video documentation of the trip!!!
Kyla was lots of fun to take pictures with. It was her first time going to Utah so we stopped at every state sign for her.
Elvis was in his Cadillac on his phone. We really wanted a picture with him but we had to get on the road. Coming through the desert there was a really cool lightening storm for about a half hour. Everyone loved it. Madison said it was much better than fireworks. Summer lightning storms are amazing.

We got into Utah around midnight.
The best part about Utah is the different places to eat. We had to show our California cousins our favorite eating places: Café Rio, Iceberg, Taco Time, Nielson's Custard and Kneaders which we ate at every morning for brunch.
