Hailey's Baptism

Today Hailey was baptized as a member of our church. We are so proud of her and her decision to be baptized. She has been looking forward to this day for a long time. She was very excited to finally have her own set of scriptures to take to church each week.

She is so lucky to have such an amazing Dad to baptize her!

There were three other friends her age baptized on the same day. Ethan, Cole and Rory. The four of them sang "I am a Child of God" together. It was very sweet.

We had lots of family and friends come over later for dinner. Hailey is very lucky to have an eternal family that loves her so much!

Award's Dinner

Tonight we attended an Award's Dinner in San Diego for Grandma Di and her years of service on the school board. All of Todd's siblings were there to support her. We are very proud and appreciative!

Abby's First Trip to the Dentist

Today all the kids went for their teeth cleaning. It was Abby's first time at the dentist. She did great. They were even able to get all of her x rays done. They thought she was so cute they called me back to see if I had a camera. We have the best dentist.

Recycling with the Scouts

For one of the boys achievements they needed to learn and do recycling so we took them to the local recycling center for a field trip. They boys thought the huge block of crushed soda cans was very cool. They seemed to really enjoy touring the place. The two boys who gave us the tour showed us everything right down to every bin of what they could recycle. There were lots of bins of every kind of metal and wire and anything you could think of.

The boys jumped on the giant scale. Together they weighed 506 lbs.

Grandpa Newbold went with us since he was in town. Everyone brought some stuff from home to recycle. Grandpa and Blake were are sorting the class from the cans.

They boys really were intrigued the whole time. They were especially excited at the end when they got to turn their stuff in for cash. Blake made $3. He decided he is now in charge of all the recycling at our house.

Easter with Grandma Di

After church we went to Grandma Di's house for her Easter Party. Grandma and Grandpa Newbold dropped us off and went to dinner with my Uncle Bob and his new girlfriend. We had to hurry and get a quick cousin's picture before everyone was out of their Easter outfits. Then it was time for the annual Easter egg hunt where all the Uncle's hide the boiled eggs.

These are some pretty cute chicks!

Too bad now the kids are older they are starting to look forward to their cookies so they are too hard to steal them from them.

Everyone was exhausted from our Easter filled weekend. Grandpa was in charge of getting everyone in the back to fall asleep. Too bad he forgot to make them all buckle up. It was very fun to be able to celebrate with all of the Grandparent's this year.

"Egg"cited about Easter

Easter morning the kids each found a giant egg the Easter Bunny had left around the yard with the other eggs. They thought that was pretty cool! There was also a giant Easter Bunny. Madison could not wait to sink her teeth into. Every night she would find Grandma and they would share a bite of chocolate until it secretly disappeared.

Sunday Best

The kids all got new Easter cloths for church. They looked really cute!

We had to take some pictures of them with our flowers in full bloom.

Easter Fun

Grandma and Grandpa Newbold surprised us and came a day early to stay with us. They were coming from the Mesa Pageant to see Hailey get baptized the following weekend. On Saturday morning we decided to take the girls to the Community Easter Egg Hunt at the Sports Park. Blake was at a friend's party. We were so impressed how well organized it was. Abby was so a little shy and first and then she got it down.

Abby was so proud of her bag of loot.

The older girls had fun too hunting in for eggs with their age group.

Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance.

That afternoon we colored five dozen eggs.

Later that night Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to dinner and a movie and Todd and I had a dinner party. It was fun to sit around one big table and all be able to talk and laugh. Thanks for helping Grandma and Grandpa!

Blake's Taekwondo

Blake has been going to Taekwondo for a little while now.

He is so cute in his uniform.

When he tested for his first stripe he ended up being able to test for both and received a double stripe. His Master wrote him a nice note saying he was a very precise and awesome white belt student, and that only the finest black belts at the school double tested for both yellow stripes. That is all the encouragement he needed. A couple of weeks later he tested for his yellow belt and was able to break a board.
Good job Blake on getting your first belt!

Hailey's Room Makeover

We decided to switch rooms with the girls now that Hailey is eight. She wanted stuff for a new room for her birthday. Since we no longer need a nursery and Abby is three, we decided to move her in with Madison and give Hailey her own room. Goodbye ladybug room. We wanted to do her room as cheap as possible, so I did some garage sale shopping with my friend Brittani and this is what I found for $60. All it needed was a little spray paint.

We decided to make it metallic silver and this is how it turned out. Hailey loved it!
We also repainted the lamp back to it's original black, and I added some fun trim and ribbon on it. Before it was pink with lady bugs around it.

She really wanted the Pottery Barn Zebra bedspread and I just happen to find this one one day while I was shopping for $30.. I was very excited. Todd also recreated a $300 Pottery Barn bulletin board for $15 dollars. It turned out very fashionably cool, and Hailey loves it. It is was fun to pick stuff out with Hailey. I can't believe she has her own big girl room.
