Wild About Field Trips

Madison has been learning about different animals and their habitats in first grade.  So for their field trip they went to the Safari Park for the day.  Madison was super excited to ride the bus and be paired up with her friend Maddy.  I also got to go as a chaperon for they day luckily me and the chaperons got to drive in our cars.  It is always fun to hang with the other Mom's.

Here is our little group we were in charge of all geared up and ready for their adventure with their maps.  One of the little boys is Taylor who Madison keeps telling me is so cute and I finally got to learn more about him today.  One day he sent home his phone number for her.  The next day he sent it on 15 pieces of paper so she would not lose it or forget it.  Wow, he is persistent!  Madison's Daddy is starting to worry a little:)

Madison and Maddy we called the pink girls because they were both wearing their hats.  They were super easy to keep track of.
 Madison is WILD about animals!

It was a great day at the Safari Park.  All the kids did great!  Thanks to some wonderful teachers!  Madison said in her journal she loved the giraffes but the lorikeets were too loud.  She also said "I had the best Thursday in the whole intire world".

Happy Memorial Day

Thank you to all the service men and women who protect our country everyday
so this adorable little girl and all of us can live in a free counrty!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

It was blast from the past day at school.  Hailey was all pumped up to be a girl from the Eighties.  She got Madison on board and they dressed similar for the day.  Luckily we had a couple of leg warmers from dance and gymnastics and they were ready to go!
They thought it was totally rad to wear jelly bracelets and big sunglasses!

They reminded me of some Jazzersize girls.
It is pretty fun to have girls that get so excited and have such school spirit!

Open House

Tonight was open house at school where we got to tour each of the kids classrooms and see what they have been learning about.
First stop was Blake's room were he showed us his clean desk!!!  He has been working all year to get his desk more organized.  We also found out he was one of the top three scores on the district test they took last week.  Way to go Blake!
In science they are talking about the human body and cells.  This is animal cell project he did.  Blake has such a great teacher, Mrs. Fine, who really gets to know each one of her kids.  Blake has never complained about school.  We really appreciate all she has done to make learning fun for him.
Next stop was Hailey's class for their presentation on Temecula and California History.  Hailey played the part of Warren Hall who brought the first westbound stage from Yuma to Temecula and became the first superintendent for the Temecula area.  She was so excited to wear Blake's suit.

Hailey has had Mrs. Denine for two years now.  She is the gate teacher and has really helped to challenge Hailey and the class.  They really are a class of independent workers who love to be challenged and do research.  Hailey is doing a great job and is such a little leader.
Last stop is Madison's 1st Grade class.  She has been beyond excited about open house.  They have been super busy decorating the class into four different habitats:  desert, polar, rainforest and ocean.  She showed us everything she did in each one.  Mrs. Williams gave them a checklist of things to show us.  Madison made sure we did all of them.  She was so proud of her work!  We are so proud of her also!
We love Mrs. Williams!  Blake and Hailey both had her for first grade also and we are hoping Abby will too:)  Mrs. Williams says Madison was just like her as a kid and is so happy to have her.  We are very thankful for her also and all she has done to help Madison grow.

Celebrating New Friendships

We are no longer apart of the Redhawk Ward:(  Four of the wards in our stake have split and they have made a new Morgan Hill Ward.  We are super sad not to be in the same ward as some of our friends but grateful to be in an area where the church is so strong.  Luckily everyone is still so close to us so we will still be able to see them and do things with them.

Since we are are a new ward, everyone was released from their callings and issued new callings.  I was lucky enough to get the same calling as Hailey's 9 year old activity day leader.  This time we have way more girls and they are all so sweet.  Our ward ended up with even more youth than before.  I heard we have 70 young men, 45 young women and our primary is bigger than before.  So in order for the kids to all fill included and get to know one another our first activity was a birthday party to celebrate the birth of the Morgan Hill Ward.  Our Bishop decided that this time ever may we will have a celebration of our ward family coming together.  Happy Birthday Morgan Hill Ward!

Little Gardeners

Late Sunday night I remembered that I had playgroup at my house.  I had not planned anything so I got up early and went to Wal Mart to get some pots and decided to have the girls plant and decorate pots for Mother's Day.  I thought it would be fun to take them to Scott and Christine's house to see an amazing garden for a little "field trip".  So we walked down to the garden wonderland.  The girls LOVED it.  They loved going over the "princess" bridge to the garden.  It is amazing how fascinated little kids can be at things you wouldn't think  They really liked seeing how things grew and guessing what they would be to eat later on.
They were so cute in their bright colored dresses.  Abby and Ella just happened to be wearing the same thing that day.  They couldn't stop giggling when they say each other.  While we were there we took pictures to make cards for Mother's Day.
Abby has always got to do some kind of princess pose.
After our little field trip we went back to our house and I let the girls pick the strawberries from our strawberry patch.  The kids all love being able to pick fresh strawberries everyday in the yard this time of year.  Our strawberry patch does not seem dissapoint!
After their "berry" delicious snack we planted pots with flowers and started seeds for gardens.  They could have dug all day filling pots if I let them.  I found princess shovels and gloves at the store that morning for them to use.  We also made finger print lady bugs on the pots.

So proud of their little pots!

Abby loves to garden with me all the time now.  She was so excited about her things she planted.
She has helped me to get our garden going.  She loves to smell the basil she planted and cannot wait for her watermelons to grow!
