Annual Firework Party

Tonight was our annual firework party.  This year Pechanga did fireworks both weekends between the Fourth of July.  So the weekend before one of Todd's best friends growing up was in town from Hawaii so we had a little get together with the Springer's and the Jacobson's to watch the fireworks.

The girls help me get prepare everything and make it look patriotic.
Abby loved the layered Jello,  She could not wait to eat it.
The girls also loved making fruit skewers to look like a flag.
It was a fun night seeing everyone again.  All the kids had a great time meeting each other and playing well into the night.
It is never a dull moment when Dennis is around.
 Dennis, Todd and Craig
Landon is a mini Dennis and was convinced he was famous from  a you tube video that had gone viral of him riding a dirt bike.  He promised us an autograph.  The girls thought he was hilarious.  It was a fun night remembering old times.

Blake's First and Hopefully Last Stitches

So I was out at church on night and game home to Blake on the couch all bloody.  He had been riding on a friends golf cart with Todd after scouts and fell off.  The story is that Blake and his friend Mason were on the back and Todd took a sharp corner and Mason fell into Blake and he fell off the back of the golf cart onto the asphalt.  Well they learned their lesson about not goofing around on a golf cart for sure.

Todd took Blake to the Urgent Care to see if he needed stitches that night at 9pm.  Blake got sick and threw up there so they sent him to the Emergency room for a CT Scan to check for a concussion.  Luckily he did not have a concussion and just needed five stitches and had some serious road rash. Thank goodness the doctor also cleared him to go to the river and swim in five days so he could enjoy the upcoming trip.  Unfortunately though they did not get home until 3 am!!!  He was really brave and did not whine or cry once about the whole thing!

The girls were worried about him and felt really bad for him so the next morning they woke up and made him breakfast in bed.

It was very sweet of them!!!  I thought Blake would be exhausted and would want to rest all day at home.  He got up though and got himself dressed and said he was not going to miss a day of his Video Game Creator Camp he was doing that week with his friend.  He really liked the camp and they would just be working on the computer so I let him go.  He was very proud to show off his wound to his classmates.  He was really hoping for some good scars.  I am not!!!  When he got home at 1pm he crashed and took a four hour nap.

Sewing Lessons

The kids have been home from school for almost three weeks so I have been trying to find ways to keep them busy without the TV and video games.  I decided to teach them to sew.  I know that seems so funny since I don't really sew myself.  The YW in our ward wanted to make pillowcases for camp so I learned the "burrito" way to make pillow with them so I could teach all 15 of the beehives how to sew.  Grandma Newbold should be proud!  Well the YW loved it and my kids thought they were pretty cool and wanted to do it too, So I took them shopping to pick out their own fabric so we could make pillow cases for our River trip next week.  We used some of the Kids Can Sew things Grandma Newbold had given us and started sewing.
Madison loved it!  She was so proud that see designed and made her own pillowcase.  She can't wait to make more things.  I think we will save some of those for Grandma Newbold to help.

Hailey has sewed before so she knew what to do.
Abby lasted as long as sewing her practice paper and then down one side.  She said she was scared of the needle.  She loved her pillow case though that Hailey and I finished for her.

We even made Blake sew with us.  We found him some fabric while he was at Video Game Creator camp.  He was not at all excited but I made him do it and told him he would never have to sew again but at least he would know how for when he is on his mission or away at school.

He was pretty proud of his pillowcase but would never admit it.  As soon as it was done though he was out of there.
They were so excited to pack them when we got ready to go on our river trip, even Blake.

Kelli and Danny's Wedding

Today was Kelli and Danny's wedding at Torrey Pines.
The girls where very excited to have little wands Aunt Annelise had made them for the wedding.

Fletcher is the newest member of the family and the boys are all very excited to have him.
 Grandpa Ryan and Aunt Kellie

After the wedding we went to Di's house for a reception dinner and some dancing.

The little girls were all sad they did not catch the bouquet so Aunt Kelli found them some of their own.

It was nice to see some family we have not seen in a few years .  Uncle Jamey, Todd and their cousin Steve Acciani.
Hailey loved dancing with some of her teenage cousins.  We are very excited for Danny and Kelli!

Preschool Graduate

Today Abby is officially a preschool Graduate and ready for Kindergarten!

When Abby got her diploma Mrs. Lisa said she told her she wanted to be a rock star but Mrs. Lisa sees her more as a fashion designer because she is so creative and fashionable.  Really a rock star.

She is really going to miss Jemma since they will be at different schools.  But I think these two are too similar to be too far apart from each other!

Abby's End of the Year Preschool Program

Tonight was Abby's end of the year preschool performance and graduation.  She was an adorable explorer tonight! We are going to miss preschool.

Keeping Busy

Right as school was getting out I was called into the YW Presidency.  I was very excited but definitely busy this month getting things organized and getting to know the girls.  I have an amazing group of beehives that I love!!!

I spent a lot of time planning weekly activities through out the summer for them and helping them to get ready for camp.  I had to make forty of these camp books in a hurry.  They turned out cute but I was glad when they were done!!

It is definitely worth it thought when you get to spend time with them and taking some of them for the temple for the first time!!!  I can't believe Blake will be in YM soon with all these amazing youth.  I am excited for him to have the same experiences.

Camp Safety Town

This week Madison and Abby went to Safety Town.  It is a week long camp put on by the Rotary Club of Temecula.  The go every after noon for three hours and learn about safety from different people in the community.  The firemen, police, ambulance, and electric company to teach them how to be safe.  They also go to safety town each day which is set up in the gym with little wooden houses, roads and road signs.  They have go carts the kids drive around and practice safe driving on.  They even get a ticket for not obeying street signs.  They loved it!!!  Both of them have been informing us of safety rules all summer!

One day they were allowed to bring their own bikes or scooters to ride around safety town.  They also had an officer check to make sure their helmets were they right ones for them.

They also went with some friends: Noah, Emma, Isaac and Lincoln.

The last day the parents came early to watch a little performance put on by the kids.  Abby and Madison loved every minute of it and wished it wasn't over.
