Simi Town

Hailey's last big assignment and project for the year was Simi Town.  It is a little pretend town they make and each student is the owner of their own store.  They have to create their own business and they rent a small portion of the classroom.   They have to pay rent and electricity for the week.  They also  have to have enough inventory for the whole week to sell to the students and any parent visitors.

The kids love it and look forward to doing it in fourth grade.  Hailey wanted her store to be called Sticky Styles and she was determined to make a bunch of duct tape jewelery.  She worked hard creating jewlery with duct tape everyday for weeks.  I also bought her supplies to make button rings to make so she could have enough inventory for the week.  She was very excited to sell.  The first day she sold the most making $40.  She was happy she did so well since her costumers were only girls.  So she worked hard each night adding to her inventory and had enough until she sold out Friday.

Abby and I can by one day to shop.  They give you $5 in fake money and let you shop both fourth grade classrooms.  Abby thought it was the best day ever and all the first graders through in a few free deals for her.  She had a bag full of trinkets by the time we left.
Hailey and her friend Trista at their store fronts.   Hailey made a cute duct tape canopy and banner for her booth.  It was a super cute way to learn about money.  Our last school project for the year is done!  Yay!!!
